EHCP Assessment

We offer in depth assessments to provide evidence for EHCP assessment, mediation and tribunals.

Several of our clinical psychologists and speech and language therapists have experience of working closely with solicitors who have expertise in supporting parents through the process of educational tribunal to appeal against EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) decisions.

This involves undertaking an in-depth report of the child or young person in conjunction with the family and school/college. This can also include psychometric testing and building a profile of how the child or young person is impacted by their neurodivergence, along with clear recommendations for Section B and Section F of their EHCP. Having an in-depth report can often be enough to help families challenge Local Education Authorities. However, if appeal does go to tribunal our clinicians can attend court to give evidence in person.

If you would like to discuss this further please contact us for a discussion and a quote for bespoke assessment.

Questions about legal services

Spectrum assessments for autism and ADHD have successfully used as part of EHCP assessment and review. We have been complimented on the quality and detail of our reports in this regard.

We do undertake bespoke assessments for EHCP and this could be a follow up assessment following autism or ADHD diagnosis , or a stand alone profile of the impact of a child’s neurodivergence on their wellbeing within an educational setting.

We work closely with an education law firm who have staff with a wealth of experience and knowledge of Local Authorities and schools/colleges within the North West and we can put you in contact with them if you wish.

Some of our clinicians have experience of providing detailed assessments and reports for EHCP process, and these can be considered as part of the educational tribunal process.

The detail of our reports has been commented on and due to the nature of the detail, many families have not had to attend tribunal as the EHCP has been finalised without the. need for court attendance.

However, should you need to attend tribunal, our clinicians have experience of giving evidence in court. This service is costed separately to the assessment process, because attendance at tribunal is not always needed or required.

Mrs A, Lancashire

‘We really can’t thank you enough for going the extra mile to provide us with some answers where others had previously failed. We are so glad we made the decision to have our daughter assessed by Spectrum.’

Young person, Ms X

‘After you wrote a very detailed report, it triggered a butterfly effect. I got the therapy I needed, I was allowed to attend school at my own pace, me and my family were listened to and enabled to support me. I got functional skills and got onto the level 2 college course I wanted. I gained tons of self esteem from the therapy and I’m finally on the same level as my peers. I have big plans for the future.’

Mrs T, Yorkshire

‘Spectrum North West were recommended to us by a trusted friend… And what a relief to have them onboard. Our clinicians were so friendly and professional. It was so nice to be taken seriously with our concerns. We now finally have answers for our son’s behaviour and can do our very best to support him effectively every step of the way during his transition from child to adulthood. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Spectrum to anyone else considering the private route to diagnosis.”

Mrs H, Yorkshire

‘We are so grateful for all of your time and efforts, and we are so impressed with the service you have provided. We really do feel like we are armed with something truly worthwhile, valid and with the depth that we need to really get our daughter the help she needs – both now and in the future – and for that we cannot thank you enough’.

Headteacher, Warrington

‘I have to say – I’ve read a lot of reports and found J’s to be one of the most interesting, useful and well-written ones I have seen.’

SENCO, Lancashire

‘I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for such a thorough, detailed and useful report. It has been a breath of fresh air to read something that completely makes sense and details this little boy’s needs so well, with such useful recommendations that we can actually act upon and put in place. This is going to help his education as he progresses through our school so much – so thank you very much from all of us at the school!’
