Pre and Post Diagnostic Support

In addition to a highly detailed report, we offer a range of pre and post diagnostic services, including pre-assessment consultation.

If you are unsure about whether to book or which assessment would be most appropriate, we offer an in person consultation with a clinical psychologist to discuss your/your child’s needs. The cost of this is £142.50 and is an hour long bespoke session where you can discuss your concerns, any difficulties and also strengths. Our aim is that by the end of the consultation you will have a clearer idea of where to go next.

Following formal assessment the following can be helpful:

  • Being seen and acknowledged as neurodivergent is an important part of our identity
  • The in depth information understanding and recommendations in our reports has been commended
  • We have a family support group on social media to offer support and connection with other families
  • We offer online learn and share events
  • We can accept referrals for training or consultation
  • We have close links with other clinicians including Paediatricians and a Psychiatrist
  • We offer compassion-based and relational therapies adapted for neurodivergent children and adults
  • Further assessment may also be helpful including cognitive assessment, sensory assessment, speech and language profile

We can also provide bespoke support, consultation and training to schools and other professionals, including school visits and recommendations for support.

The cost of any post-diagnostic services will vary according to your individual needs. We’re happy to discuss your requirements and only recommend assessments or services if we feel it appropriate.

Questions about post-diagnostic services

The cost of our assessments include the full process of assessment, feedback discussion and a lengthy post diagnostic report, explaining the evidence gathered during the assessment process, and some therapeutic recommendations moving forward.

Our clients, families and schools often compliment us on the quality of our assessment reports. The feedback and assessment report can be helpful in themselves and can help people to make changes to improve their wellbeing.

For children and their families we may invite you to join our closed group on Facebook – Spectrum Parents Network. As part of this group there is peer support and we also post information and training, as well as providing a yearly parents event free of charge.

Sometimes, we offer bespoke post-diagnostic work. This can depend on the availability and capacity of the clinicians at that time. Post-diagnostic services can be commissioned by the clients themselves, their families or school, college and employment settings.

If you would like more information on this please contact us and we will be able to advise you of availability of the clinicians you require and give you a bespoke quote for any work, either as an hourly rate or for the whole piece of work depending on the nature of the service you require.

We have an occupational therapist working within our spectrum team who can offer recommendations following assessment.

We also work closely with an organisation called Sensory Space, who offer sensory workshops that can be accessed via our parents group on Facebook.

Bespoke assessment can also be requested depending on availability of our clinicians and the piece of work you require.

Spectrum assessments for autism and ADHD have successfully used as part of EHCP assessment and review. We have been complimented on the quality and detail of our reports in this regard.

We do undertake bespoke assessments for EHCP and this could be a follow up assessment following autism or ADHD diagnosis , or a stand alone profile of the impact of a child’s neurodivergence on their wellbeing within an educational setting.

We work closely with an education law firm who have staff with a wealth of experience and knowledge of Local Authorities and schools/colleges within the North West and we can put you in contact with them if you wish.

Mr C, Manchester

‘We cannot recommend Spectrum North West highly enough – the care and assistance recommended by them at home and at school is now, within a couple of months of the assessment and report, being put in place and we feel we have turned a massive corner.  We are now, for the first time with our daughter, confident and optimistic regarding the future and this is due to the skill, experience and care of Spectrum North West.  They are also very nice ladies to talk to!’

Young person, Ms X

‘After you wrote a very detailed report, it triggered a butterfly effect. I got the therapy I needed, I was allowed to attend school at my own pace, me and my family were listened to and enabled to support me. I got functional skills and got onto the level 2 college course I wanted. I gained tons of self esteem from the therapy and I’m finally on the same level as my peers. I have big plans for the future.’

SENCO, Lancashire

‘I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for such a thorough, detailed and useful report. It has been a breath of fresh air to read something that completely makes sense and details this little boy’s needs so well, with such useful recommendations that we can actually act upon and put in place. This is going to help his education as he progresses through our school so much – so thank you very much from all of us at the school!’

Headteacher, Warrington

‘I have to say – I’ve read a lot of reports and found J’s to be one of the most interesting, useful and well-written ones I have seen.’
